I can’t explain it, but every morning now, for maybe a week/week and a half, I wake up and all I can think about is the power of the name of Jesus.
Peter told people to be baptized in His name. — Acts 2:38 – Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
We are saved by His name. — Acts 4:12 – Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
We are washed, sanctified and justified in His name. — 1 Corinthians 6:11 – And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Signs, miracles and wonders happen by His name. — Acts 4:30 – By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
Peter declared in His name. — Acts 3:6 – Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
We are to ask in His name. — John 14:13 – And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
More signs in His name. — Mark 16:17 – And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
There are many more scriptures you could pull for this but I think you get the idea. I keep this constant line in my head that seems to be on repeat… “what’s in a name, what’s in the name of Jesus. Healing is in the name of Jesus. Healing is in the name of Jesus.” Healing covers a multitude of subjects. Physical healings, emotional healings, relational healings… just a few. When we are down to the bottom (and this is normally when we call out to Him) we cry to Him because we feel like we have exhausted every other option on our own. By this time we are fatigued, confused, upset, frustrated, and about to quit. But what if we went to Him first?
Imagine everything we would NOT put ourselves through…
Yes, there is no name more powerful than the name of Jesus! I have been reading Acts for the past few weeks and noticed too that “the name of Jesus” was mentioned many times. God is definitely speaking to both of us about the power of Jesus’ name!
Sid Roth, a Messianic Jewish Evangelist has a wonderful personal testimony about his life being changed by praying two words “Jesus, help!”
Here is his story.
